In Apple’s Mail app, you can easily create subfolders for organizing your inbox. You can create these folders and subfolders for any of your email accounts on your iPhone or iPad.
With folders and subfolders, you can easily organize your emails. Apart from standard mailboxes, such as Inbox, Sent, and Trash, you can create custom mailboxes.
How to Create Folders and Subfolders in Mail
The steps to create folders and subfolders are very simple. First, you are going to create a new Mailbox, follow the steps below:
- Open the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Then ensure you’re on the Mailbox List screen.
- Tap Edit on the top left corner.
- Then tap New Mailbox at the bottom.
- Enter the name for the mailbox in the Name section.
- Tap on the Mailbox location and choose the email account in which you want to create the mailbox
- Click Save.
So far you have created a mailbox. Now you will create a sub-mailbox, or in other words, you will create a mailbox within the same mailbox. Follow the steps below:
- Tap Edit at the top.
- Then tap New Mailbox at the bottom.
- Enter the name for the mailbox in the Name section.
- Tap on Mailbox location.
- Chose the mailbox that you just created in the previous step.
- Click Save.
You can repeat these steps as many times as you want. This will allow you to create one or more sub-mailboxes within the main one. Allowing you to bring together several topics in a more general and organized way. For example, inside the Travel mailbox, you can find the Hotel mailbox, containing several emails, Flight mailbox, where the tickets are, etc.
